A Love Letter To You: The New Ravers

Raving was always meant to be shared. Whether you were invited by a friend, discovered it on TikTok, or have always loved electronic music, we're so happy you stumbled across our page.
Welcome to our community.
Your First Rave & What To Expect
Sometimes it's exciting to imagine what your first rave will feel like. There's adrenaline, curiosity, and maybe even a little fear of doing something new (or overthinking everything).
All of those feelings are normal.
For some, it's pure excitement. For others, it can feel overwhelming. Our advice? Take it all in and go with no expectations. Whether you realize it or not, everyone was introduced to raving in their own way — and almost everyone has felt exactly how you feel right now.
Raving Was Never About Popularity
Before raving reached the mainstream, rave culture was built on community.
Raves were spaces for people who felt different — misfits, outsiders, and anyone searching for belonging. Raving was never about exclusivity; it's about collective energy. It's about connecting to something bigger than yourself.
It can be healing.
It can be eye-opening.
It can give you a completely new perspective.
At its core, it has always been about Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect.
Let's Talk About PLUR
In our article PLUR & Consent: Why It's More Important Than Ever in Rave Culture, we broke down what PLUR means and why it matters — especially for new ravers.
PLUR is more than a phrase. It's a code of conduct that encourages safety, consent, and respect within the EDM community.
If you're new to the scene, you've probably heard the term before. While it's sometimes debated, its core values remain essential.
PLUR stands for:
Peace – creating a safe environment for everyone
Love – supporting and uplifting one another
Unity – embracing people from all backgrounds
Respect – honoring boundaries, space, and consent
And that last one — Respect — is where consent lives.

If you want to learn more about PLUR and consent, you can read our full article here.
There's an ongoing debate about whether PLUR is dead. Truthfully, it isn't dead — it just needs nurturing. It survives because people actively choose those values. People choose kindness, awareness, support, and connection.

To The Rave Veterans: Remember Your First Time
If you've read this far, this part is for you.
New ravers are the future of the scene. They help reshape it and keep it alive. Leading with kindness, teaching without gatekeeping, and protecting the energy matters now more than ever.
The scene grows when experience meets openness.
What HDBNGR RVWR Believes
Ravewear is more than clothing — it's expression, love, and confidence.
But how we show up for each other is the real culture.
No matter your background.
No matter your size.
No matter how much you know (or don't know).
There will always be space for you here.
The Dancefloor Agreement
The dancefloor shares one common goal: community.
We look out for one another.
We respect boundaries.
We create safety so freedom can exist.
Those moments where we feel free, carefree, and fully alive — that's what we protect together.
Soooo… If This Is Your First Rave
Remember:
dance how you want • laugh loud • drink water • respect boundaries • be friendly
make a friend • take pictures • live in the moment
Welcome to the rave fam.
